SAVE CAMPING ON MISSION BAY

Protect camping on mission bay

Welcome to Friends of Campland,

Our goal is to make sure affordable waterfront camping is offered along the shores of Mission Bay.  The City of San Diego is working on a redevelopment plan for De Anza Cove and the Mission Bay Park master plan.  There are organizations supporting other plans which will eliminate waterfront camping.  If you support the need to keep waterfront camping as part of the master plan, please join Friends of Campland today.

July 3 Meeting Results

On July 3, the City of San Diego’s Land Use and Leasing Committee voted to recommend a 10-year lease extension for Campland on the Bay with up to 5 years in additional extension options.

This extension will be brought to the City Council for approval soon.

What Friends of Campland Stands For

Availability

Camping along the shores of Mission Bay should be available for generations to come..

Affordability

Camping at Campland provides an affordable way for families to camp at Mission Bay.

Protecting a valued community asset

Families have brought their children and grandchildren here.

Why is this so important?

We can’t. Campland on the Bay must be preserved! Campland has played a critical role in the success of Mission Bay for 50 years. Campland is a beloved, family-friendly destination and important community asset that should be preserved for generations to come.

Friends of Campland (FOC) is a group of campers, San Diego residents and families that have joined together to help save Campland on the Bay and access to waterfront camping on Mission Bay that the City wants to reshape.

Show your support for continued waterfront camping on Mission Bay. Preserving the level of RV and tent camping spaces that exist today is crucial to meeting public demand for camping in this cherished area.
